standard trading terms and conditions
All business is undertaken in terms of the Standard Trading Terms and Conditions of. A copy is available on request.
Validity
This estimate is valid for 30 days from date hereof. Should the estimated rates be accepted, the company requires such acceptance in writing within 30 days from date hereof. Upon receipt of written acceptance, the rates offered will be maintained for a minimum of six months subject to third-party increases.
These freight rates are based on current rates and conditions, existing third party tariffs, present rates of exchange, and are therefore subject to change.
This estimate is based on information as supplied by you and as stated on this estimate (commodity, weights, values, volumes, Incoterms).
Should any of these figures change this estimate will be withdrawn in its entirety and revised details should be submitted for a new estimate.
Should you choose to use the company's services, these rates should be verified prior to shipment with the undersigned, who should confirm in writing the company's systems have been updated and that stations involved have been advised of the rates applicable.
The company reserves the right to apply standard tariffs where such confirmation has not been obtained.
Payment Terms
All business is conducted on cash-in-advance payment basis unless an approved account is held with the company or alternative arrangements have been agreed upon.
Packaging
It is the responsibility of the exporter to ensure that goods are suitably packed for the mode of transport requested, and that each package is properly marked for identification against relevant
documentation
Neither the company nor its sub-contractors will accept liability for inadequately packed cargo.
Insurance
Should Insurance not be included in this estimate, the company can arrange Insurance Cover provided the company is in receipt of your written instructions to do so, prior to shipment of your cargo.
It is important that you understand that all carriers e.g. Airlines, Shipping Lines, Railways, Truckers and Warehousemen accept goods for carriage under limited liability, and in some cases accept no liability at all for loss or damage.
In the absence of your written instruction to insure, it is assumed that you have arranged your own insurance cover, or that you have decided not to insure and are therefore prepared to take the risk of monetary loss in the event of loss or damage to your cargo.
The company does not accept responsibility for pursuing claims unless we have arranged insurance on your behalf.
Hazardous / Perishable Cargo
Unless otherwise specified this estimate is based on the understanding that the cargo handed to the company is "commercially acceptable", and not subject to any restrictions in the country of export, and not hazardous or perishable.
Customs Clearance
Customs Clearance can only be initiated by the company on receipt of all relevant documents. Any storage / demurrage charges incurred as a result of receipt of late documentation will be for your account.
